If you have technical skills to offer and you have considered starting a business but didn't know how to go about it, this session is for you. After a short presentation on the basics, professionals from the nationally respected nonprofit SCORE will facilitate a discussion and answer your questions. Continuing help for your new business is available free from SCORE at locations around the area, too. Join us to get your business started on a shoestring and network with people who can join forces with you for larger projects than you can handle alone.

The audience for this presentation would be people with technical skills such as computer programming, graphic arts, technical writing, and so on. These people could begin consulting businesses immediately with low risk and low initial investment.

As a small business owner / entrepreneur of the Carrboro business community you are invited at no cost (limited to 15 participants – reserve your seat at this table now) to join us for a customized information & training program that will include the following:

• Why “Go Green”? – feasibility, pros & cons, project management, ROI
• An introduction to Orange County and other NC resources to assist your company in “Going Green” business decisions, planning, and practices
• Planning processes and strategies to develop “Green” projects that are appropriate, affordable, and achievable

• Building / Retrofitting facilities – LEED certified green building practices / professionals
• “Green” project choices – recycling and re-use, product redesign, pollution prevention, branding and marketing, energy use, policies and incentives for employees

The design of this training experience will be interactive, informal, practical, and fun. Presenters will include professionals who deliver specialized services in these areas. Participants may be eligible for Part II of this training, scheduled for Wed. June 24th.

In the month of May Carrboro Creative Coworking will open its doors FREE to anyone who is unemployed. We will be providing our Part Time coworker service to assist people in the chore of finding work. There will also be meetings with small business advisers, resume coaches, fun events, and professional networking. Keep an eye on our calendar for new events. CCC now has a full fledged technology library. Thanks to the donations of a few people we have over sixty books on a ton of topics. Such as Linux, PHP, Mysql, Ruby, Javascript, Windows, Mac OSX, Java, Cooca, Objective C, etc., etc. We welcome more donations to this library. Just contact me if you'd like to share your books.

Its intended to be a resource for coworkers here at CCC. Many of these books are expensive and aren't always available in public Libraries. So come cowork with us and read the books while you're here. A complete list of available books will be available soon.

Until we have Star Trek transporters physical mail is needed. Most new businesses require a physical mailing address to function.

Understandably some people don't want to use their home mailing address. Either because of privacy concerns, inconvenience, or the desire to establish a professional appearance. CCC can help you with our new Basic Mail Service.

Basic Mail Service is your own physical mailing address here at CCC. Its sending and receiving mail from the United States Postal Service. We provide a street address not a P.O. Box. (Some companies won't deliver to a P.O. box.)

The cost is $12 a month for Full Time or Office Coworkers and $15 a month for Part Time and Daily Coworkers. If you are a Office Coworker we'll even put your mail in your office. Both of these services require reoccurring billing and a six month commitment. To do this we accept Visa, Master Card, American Express, and electronic debit from checking accounts.

Tomorrow we begin new extended hours! The new hours are Thursday from 9 am until Midnight and Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. We'll continue regular hours on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 9 am until 6 pm..

So you night owls that need to get work done late try CCC. A change in your work environment will increase your productivity. Try it!

Same prices in the evenings and weekends as during the day. $10 for a day at a time or $100 a month (reoccurring) for any time we're open. This means on Thursdays your $10 goes even farther!

We have a bunch of free and public events on Thursday nights so there will be other folks here you may run into. Check out our calendar.

Come use the space Saturdays from 10 am till 4 pm. If you have a day job and haven't been able to join us now is your chance. Come work on the side project you love coding after work. Same deal as any other day.

This is a pilot project. I want to know what other hours of the week or times you need. So let me know if there is another day of the week you'd prefer. We'll ramp up to more hours soon. We're working on making the space available as often as possible.
