Introduction to FileMaker Pro 11 is a one-day hands-on class that teaches you how to use FileMaker Pro 11 by building a basic recipe management database from scratch. The class walks you step-by-step through the basics of databases in general and FileMaker Pro 11.

Instructor: Chris Kubica, PMP, is a FileMaker 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11-Certified Developer, a 13-year, nationally-recognized, veteran FileMaker consultant and FileMaker Developer Conference speaker. I'm pleased to announce a new training offered here at CCC. Its called jQuery Fundamentals. The instructor is Rebecca Murphey. Here's the low down.

Overview
This course will give you the knowledge you need to properly and effectively start integrating jQuery, the popular JavaScript library, into your web development projects. Over the course of two days, you'll learn the fundamental concepts of JavaScript and jQuery and tackle real-world exercises to solidify your understanding of the language and the library. This class is aimed at beginning jQuery users, although intermediate users may also benefit from the more formalized introduction to the library this class will offer. more

Friday and Saturday we held a Erlang training class called Hands-On Erlang here at CCC. Two people came from South Carolina, several from the Triangle, and one guy from Atlanta. (What is Erlang?)

Friday was incredible. So many people working and learning. This place was realy humming! Coworkers working and programmers learning. Saturday was equally exciting. So cool to see people dedicated to learning. On a weekend even.

A GIANT thanks to Kevin Smith, Erlang Expert and way cool guy, for teaching the class. He really cares about spreading the good word about this powerful programming language. I've really enjoyed working with him these past few months getting the training ready.

Hopefully this summer sometime we'll have another session of Hands on Erlang. I'll let you know as soon as registration is open. Look for several new courses at CCC in the near future.

At Carrboro Creative Coworking we're offering training's in our large conference room. So if you have skills others would like to learn consider teaching here.

I'm looking for just about any topic. So write up a outline and ask others what they want know.

In this challenging economy learning new things can be key to finding a job. Come help others improve their chances by working a evening or weekend at CCC.
